All new members begin by receiving two basic manuals: the Competent Communication and Competent Leadership books.  These designate the start of the two educational tracks available in Toastmasters; the communication track and the leadership track.

These tracks are not mutually exclusive.  You are encouraged to work toward awards in both tracks at the same time.
